Brick Paver Driveway

Just had a driveway laid with brick pavers. Just noticed that part of it looks as if some bricks have been laid upside down.
Question is do these bricks have a right side and a wrong side or doesn't it matter?

Struggling to upload a photo due to size but basically I've got a batch of bricks that appear to have a rough face with the rest of the driveway having a smooth face. I was just a bit concerned that water will get into the rough patches, freeze and then start to peel away as time goes on

 

I've got a small chamfer on all of them but the majority of the drive bricks have quite a smooth face but I do have a patch bricks with a rough face. Concerned that water will sit in the rough bits freeze and lift the face of the brick away over time.

 

Bottom bricks quite smooth in appearance. Top ones look a little rough.
Was going to go back to contractor but don't want to be bambusaled. Or appear an idiot.
