OMG just had the most amazing farewell party, all of my family came to wish me well and to have a safe trip. Lena organised a priest to attend and he blessed me and for an extra £30 bleesed my bike too. I am just so loved by all. I am way over excited now as it is all drawing nearer. I am going to be sick with excitement now.
On my amazing and epic European motor cycle tour !!!!!! 5 weeks of pure indullgence and visiting the most amazing European and non European countries on the planet. Tha's all.
I have panniers for it Alan. I dont use them on a daily basis..However that is the thing with the Transalp, you buy the bare bones bike and kit it out for what you want. My specs are as follows. Heated grips, centre stand, touring screen, USB power to handle bars, Top crash bars, Sat nav mount, Phone mount, Panniers, Bark Buster hand gaurds, Radiator protection, Tank Bag. So a small fortune has been spent on the bike in order to distance tour on it.
I had a Yamaha Tenere 700 before this one and although I put 60k on the clock touring, it was not a comfortable touring bike. Brilliant off road but travel any distance on it and you knew about it, the Transalp will cross continents with ease and in comfort as I am about to set out to do.
OMG 4 more sleeps till I hit the Ferry, 7 days I will be in Santander and off on my tour. I am excited as I am sure you all are. The anticipation is building. Mountains are calling.
What !!!! How is that the same? You're average person could not do what I am doing, this is real adventure and did you get blessed by a priest ? No I didn't think so.
Don't you mean 4 sleeps till you hit the ferry. 7 Days in intensive care, 6 weeks in splints and Lena twisting your ears?
