These are a few of my favourite things... Following on from Btiw2's reply in Retired Sparks' thread about things we hate I wondered what people like? So to start us off - in no particular order or by any means comprehensive..... Good manners Cricket Wales Louise Lear (BBC weather) Gangsta rap Popular classical music Walking in the rain (a prerequisite of liking Wales maybe?) Dogs Family gatherings - birthdays, Christmas and so on Technology - although I don't understand it at all. The range of things that a mobile device can do is mind boggling compared with 20 years ago. Mrs Eckerslike!
I quite agree. Wales is like hell... if hell was damp. I like that it's rural, but, c'mon, it's possible to be too rural. Whereas I think the Welsh are possibly the most lovely people in the world. Patient and kind to a fault. They'd have to be, to put up with living in Wales. So more for my list: I'll also add Gangsta rap. Why not? I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I like angry music. Radio four (if you ignore Woman's hour). Mastic. Torx head screws. Controversial on this forum. But I like not caming out heads with my ham-fistedestness. Those automatic wire strippers that grab the sheath and just remove that. Angle grinders and chainsaws. I want something destroyed. Make it so. Lithium-ion batteries. Because... Ni... cad.. ju.. st.. s.l.o.w.l.y. g.i...v....e.....s.......u...........p
That's a good selection. The wire strippers are fascinating and I'm sorely tempted to take them apart to look at the mechanism in the rear to see how it works but haven't dared to yet. Torx head fastenings are great in my opinion I just wish I could tell at a glance what the size was sometimes. Most of my vehicles have a mass of random sizes throughout their construction. It's usually the third one I try but going for my third choice first usually fails! Grrr. I have learned a lot about life and Mrs Eckerslike's world by listening to Woman's Hour.
Freshly made bread straight out of oven hmmmm Holidays abroad in the sun Opening a new drill Finding an electrical fault that other sparks couldn't find

I was told early on that porn movies aren't like real life - it's impossible to get a plumber to arrive that quickly!
I like Racing cars, turbine rotor blades, white shirts, rip top cans of green giant corn, Varta batteries, see through windows, fast moving wheelbarrows, Isabel Oakeshott, summer picnics by the river, French villages, supersonic air intakes, multi function TV programmes. self warming acorns, freestanding light bulbs, Intel microchips, diesel guitars, motorbike aircon, thermostat fittings, etc. In fact there's not much I don't like.
