if you want to stop the brushes drying leave the brushes
a bit loaded up then put them in sandwich bags this
prevents the paint drying out this is ok for a week
this method is mainly for use between coats or overnight
[if its quick drying varnish no more than overnight]

you can also just plonk them in water for days
water based or oil based doesn't matter just shake
brushes thorough to get rid of water
[find the point of balance on handle drill a hole
insert screw put on battery drill and spin
but be carefully the paint rainbow goes for miles]
you can do this inside a cardboard

I always used to put them in a jamjar of turps substitute then find them hard & unusable when the turps dried.
I stopped that & clean the brushes in turps followed by soap & water then fold in newspaper to dry & keep their shape.
    Never lost a brush since.

Deduct the cost of replacement from her shoe allowance. They soon get the message then, right where it pinches.

I have tried most brands and for spirit based paint like the harris profeshional pure bristle range from screwfix. for emulshion i use a 1'' harris profeshional synthetic brush to cut in followed by a paint pad.All the above are sold by screwfix. Iclean my brushes in white spirit, blot them out and then leave them in clean white spirit. if iam not using them for a while i soak them in brush cleaner, wash out and then wrap in newspaper.

DO NOT BUY ANY SCREWFIX ECONOMY BRUSHES I HAVE TRIED THESE FOR ROUGH WORK BUT FIND THE BRISTLES FALL OUT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES.

buy a "brushmate",its a plastic box that keeps brushes for up to six months, you dont need to wash brushes out.only suitable for brushes used in oil paint.
