Hi Guys I think you may have to be over 21y to remember this. I have an outside workshop that I want to renew the loop detector on a window. Its the stick on metal tape stuff thats on now. There used to be a compression connector around. 2 Core in then 2 screws to compress on to the metal tape. I cant fit motion detectors " Cat" around. Cant find one any place. Even the technical guys at the big alarm companys have not heard of this. I suppose I could fit a mechanical vibration detector and leave the tape showing still as maybe a deterrent I bes some one here does. Johnny M Newcastle
Enter "Window Foil Kit for Alarm Systems" into the search bar of ebay and you will find a kit containing self adhesive window foil and foil blocks. The secret to using foil is to make sure the window is scrupulously clean using methylated spirits before applying. I used to fit miles of the stuff in the 80s!

As Vin says - fit an Impaq vibration or shock sensor and as you will need to wire this or the tape back to the panel getting 12v should not be an issue. You could also look at Texecom's Glass Break detector, or their PetWise. I have a cat - and even with quite sensitive detectors, he has never set one off yet.
If you decide to use the ally foil, give it a coat of varnish to prevent oxidisation and later failure.
Pet friendly detector, wired with 6 core to panel. Or upgrade with wire free and new panel. Don't be mean, spend wisely for security.
