Cable temperature ratings

    When installing halogeon downlighters, does anyone break the pvc t+e feed (70 degree rated)via a junction box and run high temperature flex (150 degree) for the final run to the light fitting? Or do you just run pvc t+e straight to the fitting? Just wondering because of potential heat build-up from the fitting fire hoods.

    The halogen fittings that I use already has heat resisting flex connected to the lampholder and Tx.

    Yes, but aren't these 'tails' only single insulated? I have a few to fit on a forthcoming job and having not fitted them before I wondered what the present best practise/methods were. Maybe I'm going over the top here?
