Why can't you make a van with tube carriers built into the roof ( or floor) so the thieving toe rags can't nick the tube carriers and its contents?

It will be much easier to access each time you want a bit o' tube.......will also make the van more econonmical....all that drag :)

Can't be that difficult to do can it?

i think you would get more complaining that the internal load space has been compromised by the silly inbuilt tube ;)

often when you look at a van you have a waster triangular gap each side beneath the roof rack that maybe could be used

Easy way round it is to buy the copper in 3m lengths and cut  a bit off so it will fit in the back of yer van (out of sight, out of mind) Ok you may have to use more fittings, but surely better than to keep losing copper tube to the scumbags of society.;)

    ..or buy a longer van

It's just that most sparky and plumbers vans have tube carriers so there is obviously a need...

Build a box from scaffold planks and offcuts. 4 long enough scaffold planks built box-shape, top plank heavily-hinged for lid and couple of padlocks to secure. All screwed/bolted together, including ends, bolt to roof-rack through bottom.

Have to demolish the van to get in there.

So many vans have carriers you have to wonder why they're not incorporated into the design.

Prolly cos you would get more complaining that the internal load space has been compromised by the silly inbuilt tube, or summink.

I think captains pont was to have one included with a van rather than having to build one from scratch?

Yeh I know. But there is rarely enough length inside the roof space for any decent carrying length.
