Hi there. I've got a missing screw from a bed frame and I'm having problems identifying the exact size / format. I thought I'd ask people who know their stuff rather than guess and order the wrong ones... I believe it's a cross head cone point set screw (see image) – it's 7mm x 7mm in size. It doesn't seem to correspond to any I can find online. Really appreciate any help – literally having sleepless nights over this! Thanks, Paul.
Looks similar to grub screws used in bathroom type fittings such as soap trays Yours looks a bit bigger though.
What purpose does it actually serve? M7 isn’t particularly common in the UK. They seem to be more readily available in nylon but that may be no use to you. If you can compromise on exact design then a regular M7 set screw may be an easier find. https://www.fastpack-york.co.uk/pro...d-hexagon-head-set-screws-bolts-grade-8-8-bzp Worst case if the head will foul then buy a few. Cut the head off and cut a slot in the top.
Maybe something from this and re-tap the hole to suit https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B095GFY...industrial&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw
From those pictures, it is more likely to be 8mm with a 1.25mm pitch https://www.accu.co.uk/42-cone-point-set-screws?Length+(L)=8mm&Thread+Size+(T)=M8+(8mm)&page=1 https://www.accu.co.uk/39-socket-head-set-screws An M7 would have a 1mm pich (or finer) and everything points towards 1.25 pitch alongside te 8mm OD. And make sure you get a Cone Point rather than Cup
Any luck from this lot 8mm dia 8mm long https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18580090...YuWmL5b+kNTrJfw+9QZR2tmnJN|tkp:Bk9SR6S1sdDVYQ
Thanks everyone – I've ordered some M8x8s... I'll let you know the outcome. Really appreciate all of the advice.
