Hi there. I've got a missing screw from a bed frame and I'm having problems identifying the exact size / format. I thought I'd ask people who know their stuff rather than guess and order the wrong ones...

I believe it's a cross head cone point set screw (see image) – it's 7mm x 7mm in size. It doesn't seem to correspond to any I can find online.

Really appreciate any help – literally having sleepless nights over this!

    Thanks,

    Paul.

Looks similar to grub screws used in bathroom type fittings such as soap trays

Yours looks a bit bigger though.

AS said grub or set screw try a search on amazon some assortment boxes there.

What purpose does it actually serve? M7 isn’t particularly common in the UK. They seem to be more readily available in nylon but that may be no use to you. If you can compromise on exact design then a regular M7 set screw may be an easier find.

Worst case if the head will foul then buy a few. Cut the head off and cut a slot in the top.

It looks a coarser thread than that.

Ie the thread pitch is more than 1mm.

Looking at the pic I’d estimate the thread pitch as 1.25mm.

Thanks everyone – I've ordered some M8x8s... I'll let you know the outcome.

Really appreciate all of the advice.
