Can I put a kitchen sink by a partition wall?

    Can I put a kitchen sink by a partition wall?

    Hi Caroline. I assume you're thinking of a standard "sit on" worktop sink and drainer on top of a kitchen base cabinet. Why should you worry about a partition wall? The only worry I would have is if you are thinking of an under worktop sink such as a Butler or other heavy sink and you have to fix separately to a stud partition wall in which case there would be problems with the weight bearing capacity of the wall. Can you be more specific?

    Hiya, yes I was worried it would absorb the water, get wet. Is this something I don't need to worry about then?

    Are you not going to tile the wall behind the sink then ??;)

    As long as you tile around the wall ans use some sealent to keep and worktop/wall joins watertight, you should be OK.
