Hello, I am building an installation. The base is hardboard and I would like to skim them with concrete. I have been advised by a builder that this isn't possible and that I should use Carlite instead. However, I really need the walls to be concrete. Is it possible to put concrete on top of carlite? If not, are there any other options that will allow me to skim the walls with concrete. Thank you in advance
Conxrete cannot go over carlite and concrete and carlite cannot go over hardboard. If your installation is outside uss cement board, inside you could use plasterboard dependimg on how strong and durable it needs to be. Finish with either microcement, or featherfinish. I have also used other ardex products to create a few other concrete 'effect' finishes.
