Can I use an intermediate switch as a one way?

    Hiya,

The misses just came back with a new light switch that she wants in the bedroom. Unfortunately this room needs only a single way and she has bought an intermediate switch.

Should I send her back out to get the right one, or is there any way I can use this as a normal one way switch? How would I wire this up?

    Thanks

    it will work fine.
different manufactures label the terminals differently. take one wire o the incoming L1 and the other wire to the outgoing L1. if that does'nt work or the switch appears upsidedown, swap either of the wires to the adjacent L2.

    The terminals are labelled L1, L2, L3 and L4. Should I use L1 and L3?

just try it. take one wire to L1 , leave that one. the just ry L3 and L4. (make sure you turn off the lighting circuit when you are working on it.) , make sure the switch is the correct way round,(down = on , up=off).

Otherwise it will leek if you have it the wrong way around.

    It's L1 n L3 or L2 n L4.

Can you explain that please. It will either work, or it won't. If it doesn't work, try a different combination.

By the way, I think you mean LEAK. LEEK is a vegetable.
