Can you paint solar reflective paint over green mineral

    Hi Fellows,

I've a couple of properties with flat roofs which were re-felted with torch-on green mineral felt about 15 years ago.

They've lasted well and the felt is in good condition with no age-cracking or whatever. However, a great deal of the green mineral particles have now washed away leaving areas of black felt exposed.

It's my understanding that it's the sun that does the most harm to felt roofs. I have other residential and industrial properties with torch-on felt that has solar reflective paint on to protect it from the sun. I repaint these roofs about every three years or so and they last very well.

So... The question is: Is there any reason why I can't put solar reflective paint on the balding green mineral felt to prolong its life?
