It'll be hidden behind a kitchen cupboard/bathroom panel or some other equally difficult to locate area

10 houses in the row where I live. All the same look inside & out. All built at the same time.

    Rewired three of the houses.

I still can't find - nor can the owners - the water stop-cock for the third house I've done. We think the previous owner may well have concreted over in a fit of DIY.

We are all stumped on this one.

I bonded at best guess where water entry was, and wrote on the Cert that I couldn't definitely locate water entry point.

If its a row of terraces, sometimes every third or fourth house has a stop tap, when I renovated my first house I had to knock on 3 doors away to turn the water off while I fitted my own stop tap, sorry stop cock. ******

Stick a nail through pipe and run away.

Come back again the following day and someone will have found or installed a Stop C0CK for you! ;)

Or... if you are realy bothered

Under the kitchen sink or where ever is easy to get to... freeze the pipe and fit a stopcock

As handy said - omit the hyphen (which shouldn't be there anyway), and write "stopcock".

That way you can cock a snook at the braindead autocensor settings...
