Hi, Have a Victorian building with no insulation. Some of the wood was water damaged but I'm hoping it doesn't need replacing? What are the best options for insulating the ceiling? I've attached pics
What caused the water damage? Looks like it's still wet. Make sure it's bone dry treat it. https://www.screwfix.com/p/sika-sikagard-universal-5-star-wood-treatment-clear-5ltr/66962 Problem is insulating it will make it colder and cause condensation and a vapour barrier will hold any moisture that does get in. If there's a balcony above consider external insulation?
Water was pooling in the balcony when it rained. They said it's because the drainage pipe was blocked and hope once it's cleaned the problem will resolve.
