    Hey guys,

Doing my bathroom next week and I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for.

I have 20mm T&G floor boards and they feel pretty sturdy, can I used 6mm backer on these? Or 12.5? Is it worth hacking them up and laying 22mm T&G chipboard with 6mm backer?

    Cheers.

    Luke.

Make sure they're firmly screwed down and flat. Prime, then using a 6mm notch trowel, spread adhesive over them then screw down 6mm backer board.

Cool. Can I used tile adhesive to stick them with?

Yes, tile adhesive, should have clarified. Not tubbed stuff though, proper powdered cement based flexible stuff :)

Get some 18 or 22mm T&G Hardie Flooring. Take up the T&G, clean up joists, lay Hardie Floor using packers if required to get it level. Tile straight on top.
