Changed Brushes on Washing Machine

    Just changed the brushes on the washing machine and now it making a noise when the drum turns. Is this normal after the brushes have been changed?Belt seems tight enough.

    Are you sure you've installed them the right way around? they are usually angled due to them being off-centre of the commutator. They are often a bit noisy until they bed-in though.

    If it's a high pitched 'weeeeeeeeee' increasing with speed, it's normal.

    Yes they are installed properly. I took the motor to the electrical shop with me and the guy fitted them there and then saying just what you say about the angle. Cheers.

    Pretty much like that Handyandy. So it goes away in time does it?
