    Hello all,

Does anyone have any experience in by passing the control box on a set of Christmas lights?

They come with 7 settings but I only want them on steady and they have no memory bank so when you switch them back on they go back to flashing.

I have read a lot online but the advice doesn’t seem to be up to date with modern circuit boards (see photo).

I was hoping for a neat join somewhere along the way or simple solder rather than adding components to the board.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

If you have a multimeter, measure the voltage between the + and - terminals.

Then with the probe still on the negative terminal, measure the voltage on the IC side of resistors R1-R4 when they are on during a flashing sequence.
