    Gents

Just pricing up the timber to build a tiny shed (that looks like a summer house) 6x4ft, £550 (incl £120 for some nice doors).

I asked for 15mm shiplap and 44mm planed timbers, and 22mm t+g for floor.

Some on here have supposedly built 12x10 workshops for £50 or something stupid; what am I missing!?

you been on the happy juice jimbo :D:D:D:D
even a shed made from free materials is going to cost you £50 for the odds and sods you need to buy like felt and glass ect

one of the bills i listed for my 10x12ft shed was £550 ish but that was only the main part of the wood

your size shed is awkard and inefficient at using sheet material

4ft is great for the floor but the roof because of overhangs and slopes will be anywhere between 4 8" and 5 6" halved

are you planning apex ot slopping roof!!!!

go for sawn timber much cheaper than planed and about 20% stronger as its the "full" inch

cheers guys, actually I hadn't considered the lengths, just added up the total area needed and added 10%!

It's an apex roof, with a 1ft overhang (so make matters worse....)

Jimbo, It's far cheaper to fing a proper local Shed manufacture who builds them outa T&G and makes em properly rather than the 'Fencing Panels stapeled together' Sheds that B&Q etc sell.

We have a local manufacture in Crewe that makes cracking Sheds of all sizes that are far cheaper than trying to do it yer self.

You can always re-enforce it afterwards with ply or chipboard.

Hi Sine, this is the conclusion I was coming too. I was just wondering whether I'd asked for the wrong wood as I couldn't believe it!

you need to remember the 18" to 24" in the middle is of restricted use as you need to get in

12 inches !!!!! 4-6" EACH side is fine

the sheds you buy are poor quality 6 to 9mm txg and that includes the floors

yes sorry i missed the summer house bit ;)

to be honest small sheds are cheaper made [partly through the use of **** materials]

once you get up to the bigger sizes there aint much in it providing your time is free
but the great bonus is you make it to your own requirements

sorry if youve seen this before or it dosnt work
