Can't help with exact plans but if you take a look at the "useful sites" under the links tab on this site you will find some free plaan sites. As a lot of them are American there are quite a few Mission / Green & Green / Stickly based designs which can be applied to a bed.

I will probably have some specific questions to throw your way after Christmas. Will be the first time I have undertaken anything like this. Still should be fun.
 
No problem, you may want to ask on the forum I linled to above as there are plenty more furniture makers there both keen hobbiests & pros.
