Quick question Astra. I'm turning a few of the tables into chess tables. Oil paint is very durable but with the amount of traffic that would be involved what's the best stuff for me to coat the oil paint with to finish? So that the tables last for years and will only require a quick wipe or polish to keep them clean in the home. Thanks
Dev and astra on holiday Where they've gone pete won't say Maybe they got banned And it wasn't really planned I would hold the fort Just like our dev tort But I can't really spell And I'd end up in hell Ry would see to that Coz he's gods door mat Help me dear Phil I can't find me pill
Personally I feel that poem was shockingly brilliant but since I'm not one to blow my own trumpet ... Did you see that dev I did three dots! Hurry home even if its just so I can read your posts again. You don't have to talk to me I can just read what you write to other peeps
Miss Pickles really needs to know. Is the chess table a go. Personally I think it is and will look the bizz. But will other peeps think they're a hit. Or will they be a mizz and look totally shitt.
When I want your opinion phil darling I will ask for it Hurry home astra Do you see what I have to deal with when your away?
Phil has just done the classic of giving it with one hand and taking it with another! He quite clearly fancies me and is jealous of astra Double whammy

Awww thanks chippie I do need to know how they are gonna react with oil paint though. Or I'd mess up me tables Astra they don't know.
You might try a polyurethane oil based clear varnish, personally I would not coat them with anything, the oil paint will harden off over a period of a few weeks and this should be tough enough, maybe next lot you do use an enamel paint or even an acrylic paint sealed with several coats of polyvine sealer available finish in gloss, satin and dead flat. Sorry for not replying sooner I had a mild stroke just into the new year and not feeling too good at moment due to pharmacist fluffing about with differing brands of the same medication! aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
We have to think marketable and profitable and I'm not that experienced Awww sorry to hear you are not well that sucks. Hope you feel better soon. I could make you pancakes Thanks for the info screwfix painting legend you are x
Nothing worse than pharmacist using generic brands. Pharmacist change my medication brand, I came out in hives, looked like I'd been thrown in a bed of nettles. P:S: And get well soon.
