Trying to drill a hole into a solid external wall for a coat hook. I’ve recently had a house renovation/complete rewire with the pipes and wires got chased in to the walls, so I’m fairly positive i know where those wires and pipes are in relation and they are no where near.

However, upon drilling I’ve have hit some sort of metal/copper and a bit of red plastic. Obviously have stopped immediately. Any ideas what this could be for?

    Many thanks,

Is it an old cable, copper wire with red coating?
