Hi, had an area at end of garden which was part paved, part just weeds which I want to gravel. Paving removed and area levelled. (Might incorporate some decking in a corner maybe) The plan was to lay down some decent weed membrane, and then some mot1 and another barrier of membrane on top then a few bulk bags of angular or round pebbles finish off. Is this overkill or prudent? Will the mot1 need to be compacted? And if so, should the levelled area be compacted too before laying down the membrane and mot1? Area will be just used to play on, maybe a small decked area as mentioned but that's about it, no vehicle use. Cheers in advance!

Crushed concrete generally cheaper and often better than "proper" type i. Fabric under it and yes compact. No need for second layer before your topping
