Could the wobbly wall under the stairs be structural

Hi, I was hoping someone could please advise.
I'd planned to put some paneling up on the hall wall under the stairs and a doorframe for access. (Pic attached)
Having knocked off the render, the wall is intact but has a slight wobble to it when pushed and not fully connecting to the timber of the staircase.
Thinking something will need to be done regardless as if someone leans onto it too hard it will collapse.
I'm wondering now if this wall is structural and supporting the staircase or if I could remove it and replace it with some stud work?
Many thanks in advance for anyone's time and advice.

As long as the newel post is notched over the trimmer joist and the stairs are fixed to the main wall then that brick triangle is doing nothing. If it's wobbly then that's a clue it's doing nothing as if it was supporting anything it would be in compression and solid to the touch.
