Hi all. I'm looking to cut a cast iron fire surround.what kind of disc would you recommend???
Metal cutting disc. One of those thin ones. Ware all the gear though as sparks will fly
I find the thin 1mm discs give the best finish quickly, but you will go through a few.
If you are doing it inside have a fire extinguisher handy, also protect any windows from the sparks, they fuse to glass and can't be got off. Cast cuts well and produces loads of sparks and black dust!!
Norton metal cutting & the slitting disc's from competitor last well & cut very cleanly.
