A casserole dish is made out of pyrex, which I don't believe is the same as tempered glass.
From what I've read, tempered glass has far more stresses in it after the tempering process, such that it is extremely likely to crack if meddled with.
I was just wondering if anyone on here had ever tried it - successfully or unsuccessfully.
Thanks to all those who have shared their thoughts so far.

Pyrex is just a trade name. It is tempered glass, as I'm sure the glass above a cooker would be also.
