Damp Proofing with Polished Concrete

Currently doing an external garage conversion and have brick wall with a concrete floor. Ordered a moisture detector to check if there is damp. It looks like potential around the brick there is some moisture.

My original plan was to just polish the concrete and leave it but might need to put a damp proof membrane down. What is the best damp proof membrane? All the ones I have looked at online are black or sludge.

Preferably I would like to get a polished concrete effect without the effort of laying down more concrete onto of a membrane.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to approach this?

    Thank you
