Just been to look at a job in a dental surgery, new lighting is required in treatment rooms, they are looking at having suspended flourescent lighting does anyone have any experience of doing installs in this sort of enviroment i don't do that much commercial work so could do with some advice.
No suspended from the ceiling via cables or rod's if it was 600x600 recessed it would be nice and easy, what i'm looking for is some sort of suspended florescent fitting's that would comply with being installed in that sort of environment (no suspended ceiling present) the dentist had one treatment room refitted last year by specialist fitters and they fitted suspended florescent's in a u shape with cat 2 diff's, been through some catalogues and couldn't see anything suitable, they don't want to use the fitter's again because they were so expensive apparently.
I have fitted these before in a private hospital. BDC stock these in various sizes costing between £20 and £60 a fitting depending on size and type of louvre. They were made by micromark. By the way those prices are +vat
I did a dental practice like the way you are going to. The Dentist had just bought a siemans dent chair and they did the custom built lightingit cost him thousands, So in the second consultancy room he just wanted standard louvered fittings in a 'U' shape (3 fittings) arround the chair chair suspended on jack chain, to mimic the custom made seimans set up. The louvered fittings are twin tube items 2 x 6ft and 1 x 5ft, after it was done I was'nt sure if it was what he wanted but when he saw it he was over the moon, he rang back and said it was a better light set up than the seimans!!
