Had this nail gun around 5 years now. Always looked after it and has always been good to me, If not a bit heavy! Just today/yesterday started to intermittently misfire with it becoming more frequent this afternoon. I tool the top off but there was nothing obviously broken in there. Going to investigate more tomorrow I think. I found a Dewalt diagram and i'm going to look for damage to upper and lower bumper as these seem easy fixes. I am guessing both the bands are ok if it is intermittently firing. Anyone else had a similar problem and know a likely fix? I will try to attach a link to video in next post.

Was much better today probably happened 10 times in a few hundred nails. Was almost unusable yesterday. Strange.

Needs cleaning/lubrication? Something is sticking in there...

No from what I understand lubrication with these is a big no no. They work on friction or something. I know the video is poor quality but in reality i keep it quite clean and don't batter any of my tools.

Yes - absolutely no lube with the DW guns because they all work on friction drive. Clean off any muck inside the casing and maybe adust the tension screw - that' about it, really. I now have a DCN660 - wish I'd kept my old gun at times
