Heavy chair, currently upstairs, need to go downstairs.

I need a second pair of hands to help, but not available right now. I’ve been told that Recliner type chairs can be dismantled top and bottom, which will make it manageable to get downstairs. Had a look around the chair but I can’t see how to do it.

I could search for instructions online if I knew the make/model, but can’t find that either.

Some do, some don't. Have you tried looking underneath to see if there's information on make?

Does the chair have material / mesh / stapled to the underside of it ?

If so, can lift away the staples with a thin screwdriver and pliers and take look inside, may well be screws/bolts as a starting point to disassemble

Material can easily be put back in place, either with a staple gun or use flat head tacks - good luck
