Divorce

Standing is one of the worst things for a your back and in your condition. Walking and moving around is much better but I know from experience that a busted back is agony and really gets you down.

Keep looking for a good chiro (not osteopath), have you asked at your local GP practice if they recommend one? Progress is likely to be slow at start but if they have your MRI scans (and they should), they should be able to come up with a plan over a few weeks to at least get things under control a bit.

My brother had exactly this two prolapsed discs pressing on nerve. Was totally cured by operation but believe it was fairly risky. You might want to get a second opinion.

I have tried a few. None helped. Back been in agony this last week. Every day i take painkillers. Work doesnt help either as long hours standing.

Need to find a job, which is sitting or get on to long term disabled benefit, your doctor & CAB can help you with this.

I cant sit. Get pain / burning on rear upper legs.

I will see my doctor this week. Currently got a hot water bottle under lower back now. Painkillers is all i can do at the mo. Trying to incorporate some stretching too.

Been told pain management referral is approx 6 months to 1 year wait!

I am sure i need an op but was told no by spinal 'doctor'.

Op can sometime cause more problems than it solves, I'm in same situation, need a op, but told it could also make things worse.:(

Kool........use ice packs....20 mins.......then hot packs.
Alternate.... 3 or 4 times.
I have a ice pack belt....really helps.

My doc disagrees with person who gave me her opinion on my MRI results so she is referring me to a spinal surgeon for his opinion.

Landlady is kicking me out as she wants to move back in 4 weeks! No contract in beginning as its from a friend of a friend! She given me 4 weeks notice. Really annoyed.

Still cant find a house either! Seen loads. All needing too much doing but 2 i pulled out of deal but now slightly regret.

Really down about it all. Plus had 2 teeth out a few weeks ago but gums still hurting. Dentist left a bit of root off of one tooth in there too!

Work is **** too. Gee, anyone got a violin?

Last denist that took out my tooth broke needle off in my gum, plus had a reaction to the anesthetic, any dental extractions, I choose to have done in hospital now, totally out cold, know nothing.

Got violin & a harp here.:)

4 weeks - not long in house buying terms. Unless you are a cash-buyer, which you are. Even then, expect to have to rent a room for a while or sleep on someone's sofa.

The two potential purchases you have some regret over, have they both proceeded? If so, that would indicate a fairly fast-moving market, so you better get yer act together :)

But DON'T compromise too much - this is going to be your home.

By showing regret over some places you've looked at, you have actually learnt what's important in your decisions - so not at all wasted. But try and learn from it.

If you are an inpatient then dental work is free on the NHS ( not as a day case though)

Had 3 roots extracted today from where my other dentist broke my tooth off when extracting it.

Had offer accepted on a small 2 bed terrace house.

Apparently builder had a full survey done and is willing for me to take a look. I was dubious about the cement lines at the front of the house! Obviously i will get a survey. But, taking another look next tuesday with my daughter.

Stop cock is by front window! Lol. I would need to box that better with easy access!

On close inspection, front has been re pointed. Pics dont show how neat it is. Pics make it look messy. Its not.

Any advice please post. Ta

Great news, it 's a roof over your head, your own front door, somewhere to call home, onwards & upwards now Kools.:):)

Never been a fan of microbore, but if boiler has a magnetic filter to collect any crud, then it should be ok.

YEEEAAAAHHH! :D

That is seriously pretty - "It's the nicest house in the vill-age"

Looks as tho' it's been thoroughly refurbished - roof looks great, nice fittings - bathroom and kitchen - new boiler and CH, jeepers, how the hell can they do it for the price?

That's a cracker, Kools - nicely chosen and congrats. :D

First bit of DIY - fit a magnetic filter on the return to the boiler, and ensure it has a good dose of inhibitor in it :).

Now't wrong with microbore (apart from never looking the neatest) provided you don't let the system corrode. I presume it's a sealed system - no tanks in the loft? Is it a combi?

Big issue for me is that there is only 1 inch between my head and the ceiling in the bathroom while in the shower! I think that will cause issues and especially as my 12 year old is nearly same height as me! I think it will bug me. Plus, only room by the boiler for a washing machine. No room for a fridge freezer in the kitchen.

Never everything perfect in any house / flat / bedsit that you move into kools

We can all look at our own abodes and think, yeah, fairly happy with my surroundings but ..........

Just have to weight up pros and cons and see if you end up with more pluses than minuses

Also look at the negative aspects, can these be rectified in time and with money available and realistically ?

Depends as well if your viewing this property as a stepping stone or your thinking of long term living

The height issue in the shower, is this simply a low ceiling or a raised shower tray

If raised, perhaps, this can be changed to a slim tray in the future (not as easy as I’m making it sound I realise, tiles, pipework, full rip out more than likely)

Microbore - must be millions of houses running all fine and dandy on 8/10mm pipes. If your system is working, then maintain it, boiler servicing, check inhibitor, flush out if rad wayer is mucky, should keep going (no guarantee of course)

Kitchen space / fridge freezer, any re-jigging can be done ? Doesn’t need to be immediate - make future plans, save £ towards projects, good to have positives to look forward to

Small steps mate but things are sounding positive on the housing issue, also quality time with ur daughter in ur own place - priceless, all the best
