Hi folks How should the flashing be done between a timber framed dormer (cedar cladding finish) and roof tiles. Is lead the best/only option? Does the lead go up behind the battens, cladding and wall membrane and then down over the tiles. What size lead should I use? Is there a minimum distance it should go up the wall and over the tiles? The dormer is about 5m long can I use once piece of lead or do I need to have expansion joints? If so do joints just overlap or do they need sealing somehow? Thanks for any advice. Dan
You shouldn't use lead in lengths longer than about five feet,do you mean the front of the dormer or sides and what type of tiles are they?
Thanks yorkshire boy. Need to go across the face and up the sides. Presumably we need soakers up the sides? Are any of the lead alternatives like ubiflex any good? Cheers Dan
