Double Insulated Bathroom Mirror

Hey, does anyone know where to buy a double insulated bathroom mirror. Just got a new bathroom fitted and the wire used for the mirror was joined to another wire which doesn't have an earth connected. I have hunted high and low for a double insulated mirror with no joy so far.

Since the only part of an electrically heated or lit mirror that you can touch is non-conductive glass, then the concept of double insulation becomes moot and it may be that an earth isn't really required

There are plenty of class 2 ,double insulated, bathroom mirrors around. Have you done a Google search ?

I just did Google "class 2 ,double insulated, bathroom mirror" and there are hundreds of responses.

Not really, mine has a metal cabinet.

An earth wire has to be run to every point, used or not.

Google was my 1st port of call, unfortunately very few are class II double insulated when you read the spec. Hence why I thought you guys might be able to advise

I've had a look I cant find any.

This wont help but why does the new cable not have an earth?

It wasn’t the electrician. Apparently the folk who lived in my house before joined 2 wires together, the wire you see in the bathroom has an earth but the one they joined to the fuse box doesn’t (it’s a red & Blk cable) so when I got my bathroom done this year and they used a cable that was in the ceiling (not actually knowing what it was for) and unfortunately isn’t earthed and refused to change it as they put a new ceiling up. So I’m kinda stuck just now lol the mirror was my favourite part as well. Electrician had to rewire my kitchen and put a new fuse box in when he discovered it wasn’t earthed.

We might need to go through the floorboards upstairs as the bathrooms downstairs. You can’t get into the ceiling now unfortunately.

Have a look at teh mirrors supplied by Deuco https://deuco.co.uk/mirrors-3/?product_cat=wall-mirrors

I have one of theirs installed in one of my bathrooms and whilst I don't want to take it off the wall, I can see the flex feeding it from the isolation switch in te loft - that is twin core flex with no earth. The mirror is illuminated and there is a proximity detector switch.
