    Hi all,
I need to double up my floor joists to trim around one of my windows but you can't build in two joist hangers close enough together to bolt the joists together - can you get special double sized joist hangers? how do i do it?
    thanks
    Jon

Yes you use a single hanger that is wide enough for both joists.

thanks mecheng - i thought this must be the only way, but haven't seen any that wide around. hopefully the builders merch can get them special order. (and hope they don't take too long to arrive!)

They should just have them off the shelf. It's a pretty std thing to need, provided your joists are a standard 2" or 3" width.
