I'm planning to lay a concrete base for a shed on a tarmac car park (tarmac with loose chippings). The base would be above ground level, not dug in at all, and I was planning to install a 1000g DPM below the base - but to me it seems like the DPM will mean the concrete base will not be bonded to the hardstanding and kept in place only by its own weight?

Is there any reason not to install a DPM under the concrete base?

Doubt it would move anywhere with the friction and weight. It wouldn't bond as such to tarmac anyway after a few years.
