Drainage channel outside an outbuilding

Hi there

I’m new to this so thanks in advance for your help

I have an outbuilding, double blocked insulated, but I think the dpm is either below or at the same level as the ground. I think there’s some dpm bridging which could be causing damp on the inside of the room.

so the question is, if I dig a 100mm wide but 200mm deep channel right around the building and fill with shingles to allow it to be 150mm below the dpm…will my damp problems go away?

It can only help, provide somewhere for the water to run away from the ditch. Avoid the use of injected DPC, they cause more problems than they solve.
