Made this today only take 1/2hour. Used scrap piece of wood. Drew around batteries and used trim router to freehand cut a deep recess in wood. No template used. All part of keeping tools organized
Not a bad bit of free hand routing A few tips - don't leave the bits on the worktop, a slight nick in a blade can ruin the finish - when routing a panel like that, do the end grain first and then the sides - the burning on the timber is either a dull cutter, too fast a speed or being too aggressive when setting the depth of the cut - several shallower cuts are better than one set to the finished depth. All come with practice and experience
I have an 18V makita drill and impact set, but for smaller jobs these are really good. Lightweight. Not used the other drill for a while as mainly small works stuff. One is just a drill driver and the other is combined drill and driver with attachment it came with a right angle attachment which is really useful. They both have cases but prefer to keep them on the shelf at home as easier to see and pickup.
Drill stand seems to be doing the job Drill gets put back after use so I know where everything is. Finding organizing everything pays off as you save time looking around for things so will be more efficient in tasks.
