    Hi Guys,

Need to fit 2 x 400W Metal Halides on a pole for a Car lot.

Will a standard Dusk till Dawn sensor run this without a contactor?

Seem to remember that they'll swith 2000W OK?

Not sure if they have standard ratings but the most common one I see available is rated at 5Amps.

Zodion also make an 8 Amp version.

    Google it dude

BTW just for reference the correct terminology for this device is a photocell, but you probably already knew that.
  4. Dont risk it. It won't last without a contactor, whatever the ratings calculate to.

Would tend to agree Slip, also the contactor can be located somewhere a little more accessible than the photocell which may well be at the top of a column.
At least if the contactor fails you won't have to shimmy up the pole !
