Recently bought Commercial 1/4 Turn Dual Lever Bath/Shower Mixer Bathroom Tap Chrome.

To alternate between the taps and shower, you have to pull up a section, but it it is really stiff / impossible to move a lot of the time. So it's stuck on taps.

Have tried WD40 and didn't help.

Any ideas?

How recently ? . The whole diverted assembly may unscrew ( often have flat section for a spanner) . If it can be undone, a disassembly of parts including o rings , a good soak in a descaler followed by silicone grease before reassembly may sort the problem out.

Thanks for your help. It's maybe two months old in a soft water area. I have now freed it by levering it up with a screwdriver, but that's no real solution.

|Should I try silicone grease between the diverter parts instead of wd40?

The grease won’t go in through the gaps from the outside. Continue with WD40 or similar products (there are better anti seize lubricants such as plus gas , as WD40’s main aim is to disperse water in automotive electrics.
