Hi all, new here so thought i would start a discussion, who do you think offers better training for the real world, EAL 501 or City & Guilds 2365
I go to south birmingham city college and i think both have their plus points, but overall eal offers more units pat testing, data, to include just a few differences and you get more practical work given to you. this gives you the confidence to go out and work in the real world, any other views
EAL (in my opinion) is better for the "real world" City and Guilds is still alright, just EAL offers more practical based work. Plus with EAL you have the option to go down the engineering route aswell as the electrics. I think the REAL question here is.. Why have corned beef, when you can have steak?
I would love to, CPC. As sbc previously stated, you get data, extra pat testing, you do more work with motors, youre not stuck in a classroom all day. ..You can do all the theory you want, but at the end of the day nothing (for me) beats getting stuck in and actually seeing how things work yourself by hand. I feel as though you get a better understanding of how things work if you are physically doing them yourself. But each to their own.
If you want Fish n Chips then do the NVQ. Out of the two stated City & Guilds gives you more electrical at level 2 and EAL a lot more practical at level 3. Hope that helps and answers your question, otherwise you could always contact www.sccb.ac.uk CPC
