EICR code for hob ignition wired directly into a 32 amp cooker circuit with no FCU, anyone?

    I'm thinking C2

Why is it coded? This is the problem, need to read manufactures installion instructions to know maximum feed size.

If it is a fixed load and does no exceed the cable rating then what reg are you going to use to support a C2?

If thermal constraints are met during a fault. A fixed load cannot overload a cable, but you need to make sure the undersized cable will survive and not be damaged by fault current.

...fault current emitted through the spark?

    C2.

However the FCU can be at the hob end of the reduced size cable, so long as it’s less than 3.000 metres. Which isn’t very elegant, but complies with the regs.

    No code.
Fixed load, not likely to overload.
