I have a large garden fence to paint with fence paint and started it using a good old brush. The thing is it is taking an age to do and have seen an electric paint sprayer for sale in Makro for about eight quid that looks like it would do the job. Are these any good, can you use them for fence paint and do they really save time?

I guess it depends on how thick the paint is. For £8 it is worth a go. The problem with sprayers is that it goes everywhere and you have to do it on a stillish day and cover plants and patios etc.

I use an ordinary garden hand pump sprayer to do my stables with a protection finish with the consistency of Cuprinol. I spray with one hand and spread it out with a brush in the other.

If this is a shared fence be careful for overspray on their property through gaps.

    Hope this is useful,

Thanks, paint looks pretty thin as it's only fence paint. Think I'll give it a go (after moving my car off the drive).
