Evening all, I live in Guildford and I’m currently undertaking a full renovation on my home. Unfortunately I’m in a difficult situation as the electrician that was working on the house is now out of action due to ill health. A shame because we got on well and I learned a lot from him and I hope he recovers soon. Unfortunately I now need an electrician to take over and finish, my electrician was kind enough to write me the below list of things to be completed for my new electrician to have a sense of what needs doing. I’ve spoken with 2 local electricians today and neither of them are willing to undertake the work and sign off another’s work, which I can understand but where does this leave someone like me in this situation? The house hasn’t had a full rewire, mainly a new CU, relocation of a few sockets and changing light pendants for spotlights in the hall and bathroom, about 3 days work so far. Can any qualified electricians offer any advice on what I can do now and would it be unreasonable for another electrician to take over here? Have I been unlucky with very cautious electricians or is this more common than I think it is? We only have the cooker ring working so living in the house is quite difficult at the moment. I can keep ringing round local electricians but am I just wasting my time? Any help or guidance is great at fully received.
