    Greetings,

Looking for a temp install of the Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired), saw somewhere it may be possible to draw the power from a porch light switch. I have the following fused spur wiring, this is also the switch that controls the porch light. However, mine are the old red and black wires. Will it be possible? What needs to happen? If so, I'll be calling an electrician in.

You can connect the doorbell power supply to the load side of the switch (L, N & E).

Do you have an existing doorbell transformer that you will be wiring to it or a separate AC power supply?

Sorry should have clarified, the doorbell came with an AC power supply, with an input power rating of 100-240V AC 50/60Hz 0.45A and an output power rating of 19.0V 0.6A 11.4W. I don't have an existing doorbell transformer.

That's fine, just wire the AC power supply to the same load terminals as the porch light. You will probbaly need no more than a 3A fuse in the FCU depending on what type of porch light you have?

If you are doing it yourself, remember to isolate the supply to the porch light at your fusebox/consumer unit first.

Thanks, I won't be doing it myself. It had a 5A fuse for the porch light.
