Ext Broken Ring

    Thinking about Ex's broken ring, i wonder how
    many homes in the UK have 1? quite happily
    working causing no probs at all, due to skt been pulled out & pushed back when decorating!
    I bet alot

    But how hot would you expect the cable to get with a 5.5KW load?

    (on a broken ring of course)

    I went out with a filthy blonde some years back, if she's still as adventurous as she was then, her ring may be well and truley broken by now!

    Just about every CU change I come across the majority of Ring finals are open circuit,

    Nothing new in what you are saying their Ant.

    Would have to concour with DandM regarding ring finals being dangerous when ferked about with by numpty's

    Anything is dangerous when messed about by people who don't know what they are doing, though.

    Indeed - Ring finals are a particular problem because if they are broken then both sides can be overloaded but the circuit will appear to 'work' fine.

    At least if Mr Numpty breaks a radial, some of his outlets stop working and no risk of overload is created...

    (BTW I find a high percentage of ring finals I examine are broken too!)
