    Is it worth it?
I need to get a new one tomorrow morning as the old one's had it. Was going to get dewalt or makita but wondering if I should spend the extra.

I aint ever used one, but....
I think we always apreciate quality tools and my dewalt router hasn't got the same build quality as the old Elu's had.
I suppose its a balance between paying out extra for a tool that you will always appreciate or buying something that will do the job that you may not always be happy with.

I personally think they are a bit overpriced considering other tools will do the same job equally well so it boils down to personal choice. My advice is buy the best tools you can afford :)

festool are worth every single penny

    build quality second to none

ease of use and smoothness of action second to none

3 years warranty as standard (if you send off warrany form)

overheating safety cut out (but ive never made one overheat yet)

100% parts avaliability 10 years after a model is discontinued and many parts avaliable after that

Is the 1400w model "man enough" for worktop joints? I too lust after a Festool router (love my TS55) but don't want to spend the arm, leg and chunk of torso required for the 2000w one!

Yes, the 1400W model is more than capable of doing worktop joints. Go on, you know you want to ;)
