    Morning,

any idea on how best to fill in the gaps in this fence (pic attached)

I’m a complete novice at DIY!

    2 choices really.
1, if you can get behind it, screw more timbers on offset to fill the gaps.
2, remove existing timbers and start again making sure there is no gaps.

Cheap and easy option - bamboo screening :-

Better fix would be for fence slats to be fitted on the other side of the fence offset 50% to yours.
That would depend on your neighbour being agreeable.

The more drastic option is to remove all the fence slats and re-fit them with no gaps, but you will need quite a few extra slats and there is the the risk of damage to the rails when removing, so I would consider this a last resort.

Why? Are you upset when the neighbours look through and laugh at you sunbathing?

And is it wise to do so? Have a look round today and see how many fences have a panel or two missing? Sometimes there is a good reason to have a non-solid fence - especially with larger gardens in open/exposed areas.
