Hi there! do you need still to use a fire hood with fire rated halogen lights? (such as those on pge 337 current catalogue)How far away from rockwool type insulation do they have to be? Soz if this is really obvious, but i'm not an electrician!
Fire rated halogens or fire hoods are only required when there is a need to maintain a fire rated ceiling (e.g. separate dwelling above). However, it is considered good practice to install either fire rated halogens or fire hoods (for non-fire rated fittings) regardless. Any insulation should be kept approx 150mm away from the fittings.
