  1. Hi all,

    Thanks a lot for all the help over the past month, been asking tons of questions and got lots of great help. I've done a reasonable amount of DIY but most of this task was new to me. List of jobs included;

    • Build stud wall and fireplace alcove
    • Include TV recess and mounting points
    • Board and Plaster new part of wall
    • Tile hearth and brickslip alcove
    • Picture rail, chair rail, coving and wall panel instals
    • Build alcove units
    • Build floating shelves
    • Re-size and adjust fireplace surround to suit room size (bought off FB marketplace and was massive!
    • Paint the whole lot by hand (poxy wall panels!)
    I will stick some pics up from start to finish

    Decor is not to my taste but there’s no denying you’ve done a grand job. How long did it take ?

    Always a bonus when there’s no requirement to get it completed in a short time.
