    Hi,

I want to fit a concealed door closer,t chain type, but I have a braced and ledged door which is too thin.

My idea is to fit the barrel into the door frame - any thoughts on this?

    Thanks,

    Ben

Perko type door closers are not the best, but if you really need to fit one, you will need add more timber to the section of the door, taking the fixing.

Could you not fit a Gibraltar type door closer?

Sorry for my naivety, are they better and would you recommend it over the Perko?

Depends on how much you want it to shut the door.

If you need it to fully latch, then you will probably struggle with these, but if it’s to pull it to, then I would just go for the a Gibraltar closer.
