I am replacing a bathroom basin and pedestal with a new basin and semi-pedestal.

They will be attached to tiled boxing in, so effectively about 15mm of tile and grout, and 10mm of MDF. There is no access to the void behind the basin.

On installation I will be using sealant behind the basin and on the top edge. What is the preferred and most secure method for attaching the basin and pedestal??

Edit: should read "15mm of tile and adhesive and 18mm of MDF"

I would be drilling clearance holes through the tiles to enable screws to be used

I have never used the basin fixing kits with the screw end and the thread for the basin end. Are the screws suitable for screwing into MDF or are they only for rawlplugs and solid walls?
